Opening Event

The grand opening of the Festival will take place at 10:00 at the Water Market in the Cathedral’s Outer Close and will include Chris Packham, The Dean of the Cathedral, the deputy Mayor of Winchester, others to be confirmed, and probably some water too.

Winchester Library

Check out the Jewry Street Library's specially-compiled selection of water related books, CDs and DVDs!  Activity packs available for children.

Finding water

Compare and contrast the methods of Southern Water’s fully-equipped leakage detection team and local water diviner Steve Wedge! Sessions at 12.30pm and 2pm in the Outer Close of Winchester Cathedral.

Evening Gig

Winchester’s Tower Arts Centre, housed in a former water tower, is holding a ticketed concert on the evening of the festival. This will be at the Tower itself, off Romsey Road, and will feature Zimbabwean band Siyaya. Tickets cost £10.50 and are available from the Tower by phoning 01962 867986.

Steaming Day

The day after the festival, Twyford Waterworks will fire up their impressive machinery on Sunday 17 August for a Steaming Day. This event will run from 10:30 to 4:00 and the entry fee has been waived care of Southern Water’s sponsorship of the event (phone 01489 784545 for details). You may wish to make a donation.
